Most clients notice an improvement in their skin’s radiance, reduced puffiness and a sense of well-being immediately after their first session. The effects of lymphatic drainage can vary depending on individual health, lifestyle and skin condition. For best results, it's recommended to start with weekly treatments for the first month, followed by maintenance sessions every 4-6 weeks. This helps keep the lymphatic system flowing well, reduce any buildup of toxins and maintain results.
-
Each treatment session is designed to be deeply relaxing and restorative. The Lymphatic Facial Method and Facial Sculpting Method involve gentle facial massage techniques, including cupping, Gua Sha and, in some cases, buccal massage (performed inside the mouth) to relieve tension and promote lymphatic drainage. The Body Method starts with deep abdominal breathing, followed by light, rhythmic movements across the body to stimulate lymphatic flow. You may feel gentle pressure, light brushing or sculpting movements, but the treatments are generally very comfortable. Most clients find them deeply soothing, and many even fall asleep during the session.

To make the most of your lymphatic treatment, stay hydrated before and after your session. Wear comfortable, loose clothing if you are coming for The Body Method, and avoid heavy makeup if you are receiving a facial treatment. Try to avoid alcohol and caffeine beforehand, as they can hinder the body’s natural detoxification process. Arrive at your appointment with an open mind, ready to relax and embrace the benefits.
-
After your treatment, it’s important to drink plenty of water to aid the lymphatic system in flushing out toxins.
Avoid strenuous exercise for the remainder of the day, and instead opt for gentle activities such as walking or yoga.
Keep your skin moisturised, and avoid using harsh exfoliants or products for the first 24 hours.
You may also experience some light redness or slight tenderness in areas treated, which should subside shortly after.

Unlike a traditional deep-tissue or Swedish massage, which works on the muscles, lymphatic treatment focuses on the lymphatic system to encourage detoxification and reduce fluid retention. It uses light, rhythmic strokes that stimulate lymph flow rather than deep pressure.
This makes lymphatic treatments gentle yet highly effective for reducing puffiness, improving circulation and enhancing overall skin health.

Yes, lymphatic treatments complement other wellness services very well. You can combine them with facials, yoga, infrared sauna sessions, and other holistic practices to maximise overall health benefits. Gillian often works in collaboration with MOVE yoga studio, and clients frequently combine yoga or barre classes with their lymphatic treatments to further support lymphatic flow and relaxation.

Buccal massage is a unique technique that works on the muscles inside the mouth to release deep-seated tension and improve facial muscle tone. By accessing the cheek muscles directly, buccal massage helps lift and firm, reduce jaw tension and promote better circulation. This technique also allows for an emotional release, helping clients feel more relaxed and balanced. It is a core part of The Facial Sculpting Method for those seeking enhanced contour and tension relief.

Lymphatic treatments not only help detoxify your body but can also promote emotional well-being. The gentle nature of the massage encourages your body to enter a parasympathetic (rest and digest) state, which can help release stored tension, calm the mind, and reduce stress. Many clients find that the treatments help them let go of emotional blockages, leaving them with a sense of balance and clarity after their session.

The lymphatic system plays a crucial role in your immune health by filtering out toxins, waste, and pathogens from your body. By stimulating lymphatic flow, treatments help keep the lymphatic system working efficiently, which means your body can better fight infections and maintain a balanced immune response. Regular lymphatic treatments are a proactive way to support your immune system, especially during colder months or times of increased stress.
